मलेशिया में कोरोनावायरस का ऐसा रूप (स्ट्रेन) मिला है जो 10 गुना ज्यादा खतरनाक है। इसका नाम D614G दिया गया है। कोरोना का यह स्ट्रेन 45 लोगों के समूह वाले संक्रमितों में से 3 लोगों में पाया गया है। यह वायरस भारत से लौटे एक रेस्तरां के मालिक के जरिए फैला है, जो यात्रा के बाद 14 दिन तक होम क्वारैंटाइन में नहीं रहा। शख्स को 5 महीने तक की जेल और जुर्माना लगाया गया है। वायरस का यही स्ट्रेन फिलीपींस से लौटने वाले लोगों में के एक और समूह में पाया गया।

मलेशिया में डायरेक्टर-जनरल हेल्थ नूर हिशाम अब्दुल्ला के मुताबिक, कोरोना के जो भी स्ट्रेन सामने आते हैं, इसके कई मायने होते हैं। कोरोना अपना रूप बदलते हैं, इसका कुछ असर वैक्सीन की क्षमता पर भी पड़ता है।
कोरोना के सबसे ज्यादा स्ट्रेन अमेरिका और यूरोप में दिखे
विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन का कहना है कि कोरोना के स्ट्रेन में बदलाव सबसे ज्यादा यूरोप और अमेरिका में देखा गया, लेकिन यहां के स्ट्रेन अधिक खतरनाक साबित नहीं होंगे। सेल प्रेस जर्नल में प्रकाशित शोध के मुताबिक, कोरोना के ऐसे रूपों का वैक्सीन की क्षमता पर बहुत ज्यादा गहरा असर पड़ने की आशंका कम ही है।

डायरेक्टर-जनरल हेल्थ नूर हिशाम अब्दुल्ला के मुताबिक, कोरोना का यह स्ट्रेन मलेशिया में पाया गया है इसलिए लोगों को फिक्रमंद और हर जरूरी सावाधानी बरतने की जरूरत है। इस दौर में हमें लोगों की मदद की जरूरत है ताकि कोरोना की इस चेन को तोड़ सकें जो म्यूटेशन के कारण बढ़ रही है।
दुनियाभर के मुकाबले, कोरोना के मामलों को रोकने और उससे निपटने में मलेशिया ने बेहतर काम किया है। 28 जुलाई से अब तक (16 अगस्त) यहां मात्र 26 नए मामले ही सामने आए हैं। नया स्ट्रेन मिलने के बाद यहां के लोगों को अलर्ट किया गया है।
