STATINS are a collective group of medicines that can help lower the level of low density lipoprotein in the blood. LDL cholesterol is often referred to as "bad cholesterol" and statins reduce the production of it inside the liver. Whilst its predominant use is to balance out levels of cholesterol, statins can now have an added benefit to women who suffer from triple negative breast cancer.
