COVID-19 has been labelled a respiratory disease due to the damage it inflicts on the lungs. There is growing evidence, however, that the virus may also wreak havoc on the heart and kidneys. New data suggests individuals infected with COVID-19 are at high risk of developing kidney damage as well as chronic and end-stage diseases.
