Singles say 'cuffing season' is hardest time of year as app use soars–they'd 'do anything'

In December 2020, Katie*, 28, met a man at her local climbing centre that seemed perfect for her. He had the same interests as her, he was handsome, friendly, outgoing, generous - and told her he loved her within weeks. Despite feeling elated that she had someone to cuddle up on the sofa with on cold evenings, Katie knew in her gut that something was wrong: she wasn't being herself. The relationship ended the following January - lasting barely a month. Katie described it as a "cuffing season relationship".
