
VITAMIN B12 deficiency is fairly common in the UK, particularly in older people, affecting around one in 10 people aged 75 or over and one in 20 people aged 65 to 74. Vitamin B12 or folate deficiency anaemia can cause a wide range of symptoms. These usually develop gradually, but can worsen if the condition goes untreated.
