अमेरिकी वैज्ञानिकों ने कोरोना और भाषा के बीच कनेक्शन ढूंढा है। इनकी रिसर्च कहती है, जो अमेरिकन अंग्रेजी नहीं बोलते उन्हें कोरोना होने के खतरा ज्यादा है। अमेरिका के ऐसे लोग जिनकी पहली भाषा स्पेनिश, कम्बोडियन है, उनमें कोरोना का संक्रमण होने के का खतरा 5 गुना ज्यादा है।

यह दावा यूनिवर्सिटी ऑफ वाशिंगटन स्कूल ऑफ मेडिसिन ने अपनी रिसर्च में किया है। रिसर्च के लिए 300 मोबाइल क्लीनिक और 3 हॉस्पिटल्स में आए कोरोना मरीजों की जांच के आंकड़े जुटाए गए।

किस भाषा में कितने मरीज मिले, ऐसे समझें

• कोरोना के 31 हजार मरीजों पर 29 फरवरी से 31 मई 2020 के बीच रिसर्च की गई। इनमें 18.6 फीसदी गैर-अंग्रेजी भाषी थे जबकि मात्र 4 फीसदी अंग्रेजी बोलने वाले अमेरिकन थे।
• रिसर्चर्स के मुताबिक, जिनकी पहली भाषा कम्बोडियन थी उस समूह में संक्रमित मरीजों का आंकड़ा 26.9 फीसदी था जबकि स्पेनिश और एम्फेरिक बोलने वालों में यही आंकड़ा 25.1 फीसदी था।
• मात्र 5.6 फीसदी अंग्रेजी बोलने वाले अमेरिकन संक्रमित हुए। इसके अलावा जो कई तरह की भाषा बोल लेते थे उस समूह में 4.7 फीसदी मरीज संक्रमित हुए।
• चीनी भाषा मेंडेरिन बोलने वालों में यह आंकड़ा 2.6 फीसदी था। अरेबिक और साउथ कोरिया बोलने वाले समूह में 2.8 फीसदी और 3.7 फीसदी मरीजों की रिपोर्ट पॉजिटिव थी।

ब्रिटेन की रिसर्च : यहां अश्वेत-अल्पसंख्यकों अधिक संक्रमित हुए
मई में नेशनल हेल्थ सर्विसेज (एनएचएस) के अस्पतालों के आंकड़े कहते हैं, ब्रिटेन में कोरोनावायरस का संक्रमण और मौत का सबसे ज्यादा खतरा अश्वेत, एशियाई और अल्पसंख्यकों को। संक्रमण के जो मामले सामने आए उसमें यह ट्रेंड देखने को मिला। अस्पतालों से जारी आंकड़ों के मुताबिक, गोरों के मुकाबले अश्वेतों में संक्रमण के बाद मौत का आंकड़ा दोगुना है। अश्वेत, एशियाई और अल्पसंख्यकों को यहां बेम (BAME) कहते हैं जिसका मतलब है- ब्लैक, एशियन एंड माइनॉरिटी एथनिक।

एक हजार लोगों पर 23 ब्रिटिश और 43 अश्वेत लोगों की मौत
'द टाइम्स' की एक रिपोर्ट के मुताबिक, एनएचएस के अस्पतालों ने जो आंकड़ा जारी किया है उसके मुताबिक, 1 हजार लोगों पर 23 ब्रिटिश, 27 एशियन और 43 अश्वेत लोगों की मौत हुई। एक हजार लोगों पर 69 मौतों के साथ सबसे ज्यादा खतरा कैरेबियाई लोगों को था, वहीं सबसे कम खतरा बांग्लादेशियों (22) को।
